She was a woman unstoppable. As a child, Aretha Franklin sang from the steps of her church in Detroit, Michigan. It was a pure and rousing gospel voice. She was discovered and sang hundreds of chart-topping songs. My personal favorite, “Think”, came to me at a very dark time. Her music helped me through it. Her style, her grace, is likely never to be repeated.
These are the gifts in our lives: women like Aretha.
She entered Hospice Care yesterday and is not expected to leave.
Thank you for being my muse, Ms. Franklin. You made such a difference in this world. Yours is a life beyond measure. I hope you soar high away from your tired body.
I love you.
